BOSTON AIRPORT: How to arrive using public transport
Boston Airport is served directly by train, taxi, and public bus services.
The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) provides underground 'T' trains and bus routes (Silver Line) to and from Boston Airport.
Train services serving New England are available at South and North Stations, and can be reached from the airport by the MBTA underground and bus services.
Shuttle bus transfers to and from the terminals are provided. Boston Airport buses are also available and link Braintree, Framingham and Woburn. The cost per for an adult fare is $12.00 one-way and $22.00 round-trip per passenger. Logan Express operates on the lower level curb of all terminals.
The MBTA's Silver Line SL1 bus rapid transit service connects South Station, a major MBTA Commuter Rail, Amtrak, Red Line subway and bus transportation hub in the downtown Boston financial district, with all Logan terminals. Silverline bus tickets are sold in every terminal building to the far right of the lower level. There is also an Airport stop on the MBTA's Blue Line subway service. The Blue Line stop is not in the airport terminal itself; free shuttle buses 55, 22, and 33 provided by Massport bring passengers from the train station to the terminal buildings of Boston Airport.
There is also a free water bus service from all Boston Airport terminals to the Logan Dock and private carriers to the South Shore. Public transport connects Boston Airport with all of the main areas of Boston, such as Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Newbury Street, the North End and the South End, along with Cambridge, Quincy and Somerville which all lie nearby. On demand service from the airport to various locations on the downtown waterfront is provided by a fleet of water taxis. A free shuttle bus ferries passengers between the airport dock and the various terminals.
Taxis are on hand at all terminals and three bus services are available between Boston Airport and South Station.
